My name is Christina and I am a bilingual Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I received my B.A. in Psychology from Chapman University in 2005 and my M.A. in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine University in 2008. I have experience working for non-profit organizations and providing therapeutic services at different school districts and community settings. I specialize in working with children, adolescents, adults/parents, and families dealing with various issues and concerns including anxiety, anger, ADHD, behavior management (e.g. defiance, oppositional behavior, tantrums), depression, divorce/separation, grief, relational issues between parents and children/adolescents, and trauma.

I utilize Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Humanistic, Solution-Focused, Art/Play Therapy, as well as an eclectic approach in order to support each individual’s needs. I also have training in Evidence-Based Practices such as Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (Received Certificate of Proficiency from the California Institute of Mental Health (CIMH) now known as California Institute of Behavioral Health Solutions (CIBHS)), Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (Received Certificate for successful completion of training competencies from UC Davis- Child and Adolescent Abuse Resource and Evaluation Diagnostic and Treatment Center PCIT Training Center), and Seeking Safety.

I believe it takes a lot of courage to begin therapy and know it can be a challenging road. I commend anyone who can take that first step and be open. I am dedicated to providing a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental environment and work collaboratively with my clients. My goal is to assist my clients in utilizing their strengths to overcome any struggles they might be facing and promote growth.
